Garrison, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 25-year-old Rochester was among 5 people who suffered injuries in a two-vehicle collision at a rural intersection along Lake Mille Lacs Friday night.

The State Patrol says Corey Kohn was one of two passengers in a pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Nicholas Pierce of Byron. He was driving north on Highway 169 when he turned left and collided with a southbound car shortly after 8 p.m. Pierce and his other passenger, 20-year-old Jonathan Trachsel of Rochester were not hurt, and Kohn was treated at the scene.

The four occupants of the smaller vehicle did not fare as well. The driver, identified by the State Patrol as 39-year-old Jessi Nayquonabe of Garrison, was transported to a Twin Cities hospital with injuries that were described as life-threatening. Her passengers were three children, ages 1, 6, and 11-years-old. The State Patrol says they were all taken to a hospital in Onamia with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not involved and the road conditions at the time were described as snow and icy.
