Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester police officers were called to the local Social Security office Wednesday to deal with a man who became belligerent after being told he didn’t qualify for benefits.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says 26-year-old Leonard Booth was acting erratically and began threatening the security guard at the office as well as other employees. Sherwin says Booth did not have a weapon but was verbally abusive.

He was taken to the Olmsted County Jail where a search turned up a small amount of cocaine. Sherwin says that may have played a role in his behavior.

Booth was expected to be charged with making terroristic threats and possession of illegal drugs.
