Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was convicted last month of several charges connected to an armed robbery has been sentenced to 6-½ years in prison.

24-year-old Emmanuel Alfred was arrested after a man told police he was at a social gathering in a northwest Rochester residence earlier this year when an argument broke out and one of the men pointed a rifle at him. The victim says some of the others at the party then assaulted him and took his money. At the time of his arrest, police said Alfred was suspected of being the person with the gun.

His criminal history includes a 2010 attempted murder conviction for shooting another man who owed him money.
