Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man accused of shooting and nearly killing his neighbor Tuesday night has been arraigned on attempted murder and other charges.

Bail for 35-year-old Roderick Malone was set at $1-million.

Police say he fired more than 20 rounds at his neighbor and one struck the victim in the chest. The victim was still in the ICU at St Marys Hospital at last report but was expected to recover.

The shooting happened outside the victim’s home near Madonna Towers as he was talking to his babysitter and her mother. Some of the rounds Malone fired travelled more than 600 feet and two hit an occupied house.

The two men are neighbors and know each other. Police say Malone refused to give a statement after his arrest so the motive for the shooting is unknown.
