Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man was formally charged Tuesday in connection with a brutal assault on a woman who was held captive in her home last weekend.

41-year-old Eric Narveson faces one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct, along with felony assault and false imprisonment charges. His conditional bail was set at $200,000.

Narveson is accused of holding the woman against her will and repeatedly sexually and physically assaulting her during an ordeal that lasted nearly 24 hours. The victim finally managed to escape from the home in the 1200 block of 7th avenue southeast late Sunday afternoon and ran to a nearby house to call for help. Narveson was gone when police arrived at the scene, but was located and arrested several hours later.

His criminal record includes a gross misdemeanor domestic abuse charge from March 23rd. It stems from an incident at the same house and it’s believed it involveed the same victim.
