Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A verbal dispute between two Rochester roommates ended with one being treated at the hospital and the other in jail.

Officers were sent to check a noise complaint at a residence in the 1100 block of 11th Ave SE around 4:00 AM Saturday.

They found one man covered in blood and he told the officers he had been assaulted by his roommate, identified as 24-year-old Miguel Erives. The 26-year-old man said Erives punched him in the head several times, threw some water bottles at him and hit him with a guitar. The victim suffered a severe ear injury that needed stitches.

Police say the argument was about a $3,000 debt the victim owed Erives, who was arrested on a felony assault charge. Police also suspect alcohol was involved
