Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was among the at least five people who were injured in four separate traffic crashes in southeastern Minnesota Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

The most recent incident occurred in Houston County just before 7 o’clock Saturday morning. The State Patrol says a 29-year-old Caledonia man was struck by a pickup truck while he was walking on the southbound lane of Highway 76 several miles south of Caledonia. His name and information about the extent of his injuries have not been released. The State Patrol has also not released the name of the 36-year-old Caledonia man driving the pickup.

An early morning crash in Dakota County involving alcohol sent two Farmington residents to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol says 20-year-old Aimee Meister and 27-year-old Mark Johnson were driving pickup trucks that collided head-on in the southbound lane of Highway 3 between Northfield and Farmington just after Midnight. The crash report indicates alcohol was detected in Johnson, who was driving north in the southbound lane at the time of the crash.

The two other crashes were reported Friday afternoon. The first occurred a few miles north of Plainview on Highway 42 around 2 PM. The State Patrol says 35-year-old Joseph Borst of Rochester was driving south when his car crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound semi-truck. He was transported to St. Marys Hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol says the two Wisconsin men in the truck were not hurt.

The other crash on Friday sent a Pine Island man to St. Marys Hospital. The State Patrol says 44-year-old Mark Geier suffered non-life threatening injuries when he attempted to make a U-turn on Highway 60 at the Highway 52 overpass shortly after 5 PM and his car was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the same direction. The other driver, 22-year-old Travis Husbyn of Wanamingo, was not hurt.
