Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to a simple robbery charge in connection with an assault and robbery in Chatfield.

38-year-old Montez Ruth and 27-year-old Kayla Richards were arrested last November after a 56-year-old woman contacted the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department and reported that she had been attacked in her residence at the Chosen Valley mobile home park. The victim told deputies Richards assaulted her and knocked her out before she and Ruth left with her 40 inch TV and a cell phone.

Rochester police were waiting for the pair when they showed up at their residence and the officers found the stolen items in their vehicle.

Richards earlier pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and simple robbery. She is scheduled to be sentenced April 11, while the sentencing hearing for Ruth is scheduled on May 16th.
