Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man is expected to be charged with sexually assaulting a woman who faked she had blacked out while being choked.

Police arrested 25-year-old Abel Browne Thursday, several hours after the woman was able to get away from the man at a local apartment.

The woman told officers Browne had assaulted her frequently in the past and had also choked her until she was unconscious.

The woman says the two got into an argument early Thursday. She says Browne hit her and then put his arm around her neck and began squeezing. The woman says she pretended she had blacked out in hopes of ending the assault. That’s when she says Browne sexually assaulted her.

News Update:  Rochester police unsuccessfully use tear gas to catch drug suspect.
