Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest jobs data for the Rochester area supports recent reports about the tight labor market in southeastern Minnesota.

The unemployment rate for Olmsted County in October was only 2.6-percent. That was down a tenth of a point from October but it was three-tenths of a point higher than the jobless rate from October of last year.

Olmsted County continued to enjoy the lowest unemployment rate in the region, where every County reported lower jobless rates in October. Most of the counties had rates that were only slightly higher than Olmsted County’s, and the highest rate throughout the region was found in Freeborn County at only 3.2-percent.
