The Rochester Building Safety Department just experienced one of its busiest months in a long time.  During August, the department issued 60 permits for new single family residential units.  That’s the highest monthly total since July 2007. So far this year, the department has approved nearly 260 permits for new single family homes

The department was also busy last month dealing with permits for new commercial projects, including several valued at more than a million dollars.  The largest was an $11.3 million permit for the latest  expansion  of the Mary Brigh building at St. Mary’s.

 

The valuation total for all the new construction permits that were issued in August was $48 ½ million.
