Each year the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester selects a 'Youth of the Year' to recognize an standout member and give them a platform to showcase their character, leadership and personal development. Rochester's 'Youth of the Year' this year is Rosalind Moore.

I had the pleasure of hearing Rosalind's amazing speech at last month's 'A Chair Affair.' She's obviously a huge advocate of the Boys & Girls Club. "Club has been there for me through thick and thin, becoming a second home, a place where there is warmth, love, support, and fun,” Rosalind said or her experiences there.

On March 21, Moore competed against eight other 'Youth of the Year' winners from around the state for the title of State Youth of the Year and won!

Rosalind will now travel to Chicago this summer to compete in the regional competition.

She also met with Rochester State Representative Nels Pierson on Wednesday during the Boys and Girls Club Day on the Hill in St. Paul. Members of the club visited the Capitol to meet with legislators and advocate for the program.

"I was honored to spend time with Rosalind and hear about her passion for the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester,” said Pierson. “Rosalind has done great work to advance the club, and I thank her for her exceptional service to our area.”
