Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester 8th grader will be given a “ good luck “ send off Friday as she heads out to next week’s National Spelling Bee.

This won’t be the first time for Christine Farnberg. She was also the Southeast Minnesota Spelling Bee winner in 2013. She was also second runner-up last year.

Christine is a student at Holy Spirit Catholic School. Staff and students will line up in the school parking lot Friday afternoon to make a tunnel for Christine to walk through as they congratulate and send her off to the National Bee.

She is one of 5 Minnesotans who will compete this year.
