Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Have you noticed? Gasoline prices in Rochester have been creeping up the last few weeks and are now at their highest point since late November.

Prices for regular grade were hovering around the $2 per gallon mark for a few weeks in January and then began a slow climb. They were around $2.10 a month ago, $2.20 a week ago and are now approaching $2.40.

According to gasbuddy.com, the statewide average as of Friday morning was $2.33. A year ago, the average was nearly $2.50 a gallon.

Much of the increase is the result of higher oil prices
