Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The law has caught up with a Rochester drug dealer who had been on the run the last few months - just a year after he was sent to prison for an earlier case.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Angel Castellanos at his home at the Oak Terrace Estates mobile home park Wednesday.

Police Capt John Sherwin says Castellanos was being sought by state corrections officials and had been hiding out at the residence. Sherwin says during the time he was on the run, he was selling drugs - including some to a police informant.

He pleaded guilty last year to a drug charge and was sentenced to 7 years in prison. But he was able to enter a special Department of Corrections program for drug offenders and those convicted of non-violent crimes. He walked away a few months ago.

Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem says the inmates are allowed to live in a “boot camp” halfway house setting that allows them to find jobs. Ostrem says he was never contacted by the DOC.  He says he would have opposed the placement of Castellanos in the program because of the amount of time he had left to serve.
