Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - He’s down to his final few weeks on the job - the only job he has held the last 30 some years.

Rochester Assistant City Administrator Gary Neumann will leave City Hall for the final time next month, ending a career that began in 1982.

His departure will take place less than a year after his former boss Steve Kvenvold retired after serving as city administrator for nearly 40 years.  Neumann has no immediate retirement plans but does expect to continue living in the city - and go to more Twins games.

We sat down for an interview with Gary to talk about his long career that includes work on the city’s flood control project, sales tax, and DMC.

The city has hired Aaron Parrish to succeed Neumann. Parrish has served as the City Administrator of Forest Lake since 2011, and previously held positions in other Minnesota cities, including Crookston and Arden Hills.
