Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The drawn-out legal battle between Rochester and Rochester City Lines is finally ready for a court trial.

RCL sued the city after losing its public transit contract in 2012 and the case has been in the court system since then, including two trips to the state Supreme Court.

Last week, the Supreme court refused to review the latest challenge and sent the case back to Olmsted County for trial. RCL was challenging a decision by Olmsted County Judge Joseph Chase to try the case without a jury.

The case - which has been assigned to Judge Kevin Lund - can now be scheduled for trial.

City Attorney Terry Adkins says the only issue to be decided is whether the selection process that led to a new contract was fair and unbiased.
