Rochester City Council Could Appoint Arena Task Force Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester City Council could make a decision Monday on whether to assign a task force to look into the feasibility of a new sport/entertainment arena at the Mayo Civic Center.
The commission that oversees the operations of the civic center recommended the task force after recently receiving a study on the proposed project.
The council was scheduled to vote on the recommendation three weeks ago but tabled the issue so it could discuss the proposal in depth.
If a task force is assembled, it’s expected it would be directed to get public input, evaluate the study, determine the size of a new arena and look into project and operational costs.
