Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester City Councilmember Sanda Means says it’s time for someone else to take her seat representing the 6th ward.

Means has decided not to run for re-election this year for the seat she has held since 2003.

Means says her time on the Council has been “ an absolutely wonderful experience “ and that she was happy to be heavily involved in local government. Means says  the 13 years on the Council is “ plenty long “ and she decided not to run for another term so the next 6th ward representative can bring different thoughts and opinions to the table.

Means was elected to finish the term of Dave Senjem after he was elected to the state Senate.

Also up for re-election on the Council this year are President Randy Staver and members Mark Bilderback and Michael Wojcik.
