Rochester City Administrator Kvenvold Will Retire Next Year
Rochester, MN - (KROC AM News) - A longtime member of Rochester city government has announced his retirement plans.
City Administrator Steve Kvenvold has informed Mayor Brede, the City Council and other city employees he intends to retire next year. Kvenvold hasn’t picked an official retirement date but intends to step down during the second quarter of next year.
Kvenvold has been a city employee for 46 years .He worked as an assistant administrator before being appointed to the top position in June 1979.
His job is the highest non-elective position in city government.
Kvenvold - who serves at the whim of the city council - has worked under five mayors and five council presidents.
The 73-year-old says he has no immediate retirement plans.
