Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Both Chipotle restaurant locations in Rochester are among the 62 locations in Minnesota that were affected by a data security breach earlier this year.

The company previously announced it was targeted by malware that compromised payment card security and has now identified the restaurants impacted and when the security breach occurred. A statement issued by Chipotle Mexican Grill says the malware was able to track information from a credit or debit card as it was being read on point-of-sale devices between March 24th and April 18th. The data possibly mined by those responsible for the breach included the cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date and the internal verification code.

Anyone who used a credit card or debit card to make a purchase at any of the affected Chipotle locations is being urged to be vigilant in checking their statements for any sign of fraudulent activity. Anything suspicious should be immediately reported to the card issuer by calling the phone number that is usually found on the back of credit and debit cards.

The company's statement also expressed regret that this incident occurred and apologized for any inconvenience. If customers have questions regarding this incident, you can call 888-738-0534 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. EDT.
