Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce has selected in interim president.

A statement issued today by Chamber Board Chair Lisa Clarke indicates the business organization’s Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Kathleen Harrington.

The decision follows the resignation of former Chamber President Rob Miller two weeks ago amid a wave of criticism over the departure of longtime Chamber of Commerce employee Judy Braatz, and the publication of a letter she sent to the board in which she accused Miller of discrimination. The resulting controversy prompted the group to hire an outside attorney to conduct an independent investigation.

Harrington is a Mayo Clinic administrator who recently announced plans to retire from her job as head of Mayo’s Division of Policy and Government Relations.
