Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Two Rochester brothers have been charged in connection to an assault that included a gun.

Officers responded to calls about shots fired outside a residence in the 400 block of 14th St NW around 1:30 Sunday morning.

A 23-year-old man who lives there said he and a friend had just been in a confrontation with 24-year-old Shawn Watson and his 28-year-old brother Christopher.

The victim says he and Shawn Watson had once been friends but they had a falling out over a woman. When he learned the brothers were outside his home, he and his friend went to confront them. The victim says Christopher Watson responded by pulling out a handgun and hitting his friend in the face. That’s when the gun fired. Watson then began striking the victim in the face.The brothers left but were caught a short while later.

A neighbor later found the suspected 45-caliber gun and contacted police.

The Watsons were arraigned on felony assault charges Monday. Bail for Christopher Watson was set at $50,000. His brother’s bail was set at $25,000.
