Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Work on two busy Rochester streets is expected to affect traffic this week.

The two roadways are 4th St SE between Broadway and 11th Ave, near St Francis Church and 20th St SE between 3rd Ave and 11th Ave.

Lane closures will be in effect during the 4th St rehab project. Also, the section of 4th St between Broadway and 3rd Ave will be closed for 1 - 2 weeks when the railroad crossing near the Zumbro River bridge is replaced. The date for that portion of the project hasn’t been scheduled yet.

The 20th St project is scheduled to affect traffic on Monday. Pavement repair on 20th St between 3rd and 11th avenues continues but work on a water main will have an impact on westbound traffic in that stretch of roadway. The water main work is scheduled to begin Monday and it will limit westbound traffic to residents of the Meadow Park neighborhood. All other westbound traffic will be detoured to 16th St SE. Eastbound traffic will not be affected. This restriction is expected to last two weeks.

Traffic in northeast Rochester will be affected by the 55th St/North Broadway project. It will require lane switches on Broadway between 37th and 55th streets. The  48th St/Broadway intersection will remain open to traffic. The entire 55th Street project is expected to be wrapped up this fall.
