Ribbon Cutting for Mayo’s New Cannon Falls Facility

Mayo Clinic is holding an open house today for its new Mayo Clinic Health System facility in Cannon Falls.

 A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2:30 and public tours will be offered from 3 - 7.

Work on the 90,000 square foot facility began in March last year.  It replaces the original facility that opened in 1958 and was  about a third of the size of the new one, which includes a clinic, hospital and a 24 hour emergency unit.  Mayo said earlier the new project had a cost of $28 million.

The new clinic is scheduled to open August 4th.  The hospital and emergency department will open August 7th.

Mayo began its affiliation in Cannon Falls in 2006.
