Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday morning to officially mark the opening of the new CTECH Center on the University Center Rochester campus. CTECH stands for Career and Technical Education Center at Heinz, signifying its location adjacent to the Rochester Community and Technical College Heinz Center.

Members of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and local elected officials will be among those in attendance to celebrate the opening of the facility, which houses classrooms and work areas for hands-on education to give students in the Rochester School District an opportunity to explore careers in healthcare, construction, engineering, manufacturing, information technology, hospitality, and agriculture.

The collaborative effort of Rochester Public Schools, Rochester Community and Technical College, and Winona State University began offering classes at the start of the new school year.
