Cannon Falls, MN (KROC-AM News) -  The Cannon Falls Police Department is seeking the public’s help as it investigates a reported attempted child abduction.

The incident occurred around 4 PM Sunday at Lower Hannah’s Bend Park, where a 10-year-old girl indicated she was grabbed by a man who picked her up and began running across the park. She told investigators she managed to escape when he stopped and set her down to catch his breath.

The girl described the man as white, in his 20s, about six foot tall, and weighing around 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a white or yellow cartoon drawing on the left side. His pants were dirty and baggy blue jeans with holes on each knee and he was wearing dirty, black work boots. The girl told police she did not get a good look at the man’s face because it was obscured by his hood, but he did have a dark brown hair.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who was in that area Sunday afternoon, but would especially like to speak with a man who was with his two young children at the park’s playground and left moments before the girl indicated she was accosted.
