Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A monthly report on real estate activity in southeastern Minnesota shows both the number of closings on existing home sales and the median sales price rose in February.

The Southeastern Minnesota Association of Realtors reported that closings were up 8.3-percent from a year ago and the median sales price climbed 11.7-percent to $138,700. The report also shows there was a 35-percent increase in pending sales last month and the number of new listings was up 13-percent when compared to February 2014.

In Rochester, the association found the number of closings on sales of existing homes is up 20-percent this year when compared to the first two months of 2014. The median sales price of homes sold in the city has risen about 10-percent from a year ago to $160,000.
