Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Red Wing man was sentenced today for a fatal shooting in Red Wing a little over a year ago. 27-year-old Charles Dionta Jones was given a prison sentence of 128 months or a little over 10 ½ years for shooting and killing DeAngelo Masterjohn. He earlier entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a 2nd-degree murder charge and a felony dangerous weapon charge from the discharge of a firearm in the city.

Jones was accused of shooting Masterjohn in the chest at close range during a confrontation in the early morning hours of April 18, 2017. The victim was found dead on the sidewalk in a residential neighborhood near downtown Red Wing later that morning

Jones was caught later the same day after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase in western Wisconsin.
