Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System is looking for another interim president for Rochester Community and Technical College.

MNSCU Chancellor Steven Rosenstone says the ongoing search for a permanent replacement for Leslie McClellan has not yet identified a pool of candidates of sufficient quality. Rosenstone says the publicity generated by problems at the RCTC campus that led to the departure of McClellan in January may have deterred prospective candidates from applying.

St. Cloud Technical and Community College President Joyce Helens has been serving as the interim RCTC president since McClellan’s resignation with the expectation she would return to her previous assignment before the next school year begins. Rosenstone says he intends to honor his commitment to return her to St. Cloud this summer.

He is now looking to appoint another interim president who would assume the leadership position in Rochester on July 1st. Rosenstone also says he is considering asking the MNSCU Board of Trustees for authorization to make it a two-year appointment while the search continues for the next RCTC president.
