April is Child Abuse Awareness Month.  An attempt to not only publicize the issue but also to let others know they are not alone in their suffering.

It's been prevalent in our society forever and it hasn't seemed to slow down at all despite the good efforts of many.  We talked about the issue with Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem Wednesday morning on Rochester's Good Morning and the question was raised from a listener, "who determines what child abuse is?"

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges recently revealed that she too was sexually abused as a child by adults who were not related to her.  Check the Child Abuse Awareness website for further information
