The former Quad/Graphics-Brown Printing property and building in Waseca has been sold to a group that includes Drummer Land Development and Drummer Development in Mankato as well as MJ Property Holdings LLC. According to the Mankato Free Press the property sold for $4 million.

Quad announced in October it was closing the massive 775,000-square-foot Waseca printing facility because of a decline in the printing of magazines, catalogs, and other materials. Approximately 350 employees lost their jobs.

Quad bought the plant from Brown Printing just three years earlier. The company paid $100 million for three Brown facilities, also including one in Illinois that employed 550 and one in Pennsylvania that employed 500.

Brown Printing was started in 1949 and grew to 750 employees at its peak.
