The Preston Fire Department requested assistance from Fountain and Harmony Fire Departments in battling the flames, which quickly engulfed the structure. Sheriff Kaase says the State Fire Marshall was called to investigate the cause of the fire, which was believed to have started in the kitchen area.

Traffic was detoured off Highway 52 while fire crews battled the blaze, which took almost 5 hours to extinguish.
