Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - Rochester Police were called out Saturday afternoon to investigate an attempted armed robbery.

A spokesman says officers responded to the Casey’s General Store in the 4500 block of 18th avenue northwest around 3:30 p.m. Employees of the business told police a young male, with a hood over his head, threatened them with a gun and demanded cash. The would-be robber fled empty handed after he was told they could not open the cash register.

He was described as either Asian or Hispanic, between 17 and 20 years old, around 5 foot 9 and skinny.
