HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — An Inver Grove Heights man is under arrest after stealing a Minnesota Department of Transportation truck from a construction site and leading police on a chase.

A MnDOT representative tells Minnesota Public Radio News the truck driven by an agency inspector was taken from a construction site on Highway 61 in Hastings shortly before 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Minnesota State Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Tiffani Nielson says troopers and Cottage Grove police followed the vehicle as it traveled at under 55 mph on the highway.

Nielson says officers were able to stop the truck about 14 miles down the highway by using a stopping maneuver.

No one was hurt. The 35-year-old driver was booked on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and fleeing police.
