WINONA, Minn. (AP) — The getaway driver in the shooting death of a Winona man last October has pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against the other defendants.

The Winona Daily News reports that 19-year-old Kayla Mae Clay, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, faced three counts of aiding an offender as an accomplice. But she pleaded guilty Friday to a new gross misdemeanor count. In exchange, the other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is set for March 31.

The charges stemmed from the Oct. 18 shooting death of 31-year-old Adam Tylor Fort. Clay testified she drove her boyfriend and another man to Winona to buy marijuana. She said they ran out of an apartment building where Fort was killed with a bag that contained around $5,000, and her boyfriend gave her about $600 of it.
