St Paul ( KROC AM News) - It’s back to work for Minnesota’s lawmakers and Gov Dayton.

They have one week to reach agreement on a new state budget.

Dayton vetoed five budget bills Friday and more are headed to his desk after the Senate holds a session Monday.

Action in the Senate came to a halt last week after Rochester Senator Carla Nelson left to be with her ailing father. Republicans only have a one seat majority and need her vote to pass their bills. She indicated over the weekend she plans to return Monday.

The session adjourns next Monday.
