Olmsted Investigators Looking into Reported Shooting in Eyota
Eyota,
MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving gunshots in Eyota.
Deputies were sent to the 200 block of Rena Belle St NW around 11:30 PM Friday to check reports of shots fired. They found a car and two 9mm shell casings nearby. They learned the car was owned by a Winona County man.
The deputies located the 22-year-old owner. He told them he and a 19-year-old female were sitting in the car waiting for someone when two strange men appeared and demanded their money. The man says he ran off on foot and heard two gunshots but wasn’t sure if he had been fired at. The woman stayed in the car and says the two men took the keys to the vehicle and left.
Because the statements the two gave to the deputies were inconsistent, the case remains under investigation.
