Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Board held its final meeting of the year Tuesday and approved its 2019 budget.

It includes a property tax levy of $103-million, which is $4.8-million or nearly 5-percent higher than the 2018 figure.

The Board also adopted a new budget for the county’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority, which will increase by $750,000 from this year’s figure to $2.5-million for 2019. The budget is funded through a separate property tax levy.

The commissioners also set their 2019 salaries at nearly $44,000 and continued their expense stipends at $400 per month.

They also approved raises for County Attorney Mark Ostrem and Sheriff Kevin Torgerson. Ostrem will be paid just over $176,000 next year while Torgerson will have a salary of $142,500.
