Rochester, MN (KROC AM News ) - The Minnesota State Patrol says a man from Le Roy dozed off and caused a traffic wreck Wednesday morning near Rochester.

The Patrol says 27-year-old Keythe Dietrich was driving west on Highway 14 around 5 a.m. when he fell asleep. His car went through the median and crashed head-on into an eastbound vehicle driven by 49-year-old Catherine Trom of Byron. She wasn’t hurt but Dietrich was taken to St Mary’s where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The wreck happened near Olmsted County Road 104 just west of Rochester.

There has been another fatal traffic wreck in northeast Minnesota.

The latest happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Biwabik. The State Patrol says 48-year-old Diana Olson of Embarrass was driving a vehicle that rolled several times. She was taken to a Duluth hospital where she died. A passenger, 46-year-old Gregory Olson of  Hibbing, suffered serious injuries.

That was the fourth traffic fatality in northeast Minnesota this month.
