Undated (KROC AM News)  -  Thursday’s Give to the Max Day in Minnesota was a huge success.

By the time the annual event ended at midnight, more than $20-million had been donated to various nonprofits, schools and other groups. That easily broke the previous record of just over $18-million that was set two years ago.

GiveMN says nearly 111,000 donations came from more than 52,000 donors. The gifts went to more than 5,700 nonprofits and schools, which was also a record.

The fundraiser was a very successful event for the University of Minnesota and St. Thomas as both received donations of more than half a million dollars.

This was the 8th year of the event.
