Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - It looks like it’s one-and-done for Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges.

She was running for a second term in a field of 16 candidates. All the precincts have reported Tuesday’s results and they show Hodges in third place. Minneapolis City Council member Jacob Frey is leading the pack.

Frey's election was made official Wednesday afternoon.

Also in Minneapolis, history was made when voters elected a transgender woman to a city council seat. That’s the first time this has happened in a large US city.

Meanwhile, St Paul has its first  black mayor. Former St Paul City Council member Melvin Carter easily defeated five other candidates to win the seat that had been held by Chris Coleman, who decided not to run again.
