Did you notice a group of high-end cars, extra people, and a TV crew hanging around the Med City Sunday and yesterday? It wasn't just in your head. Here's why they were here.

While the Vikings were beating the Buccaneers Sunday, around forty different groups made their into Rochester, the next stop on season 11 of the reality TV series, "Fireball Run." It's a national show that airs on Amazon Prime's streaming online service.

If you're like me, and had never heard of the show before, the Fireball Run website describes it like this: "A show for adventurers, drivers, and knowledge seekers, Fireball Run is an authentically filmed series chronicling the endeavor and excitement of 40 aspirational driving teams leaving their lives behind in search of amazing places, unique attractions, and extraordinary people."

So, sure enough-- Rochester was one of those 'amazing places' this season! The teams, including some cool high-end cars, like DeLoreans, started Sunday up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and then headed down here for their second stop. They completed various 'missions' while here (which, according to this Post-Bulletin story, included  a local scavenger hunt, highlighting local sights like "the Olmsted County History Center, Mayo Clinic's Simulation Center, Rochester Civic Theatre and the Plummer House.")

The teams then gathered downtown near the Peace Plaza early Monday morning to take off and head out to their next destination, which is Dubuque, Iowa. They eventually end this season's adventure out in Rapid City, South Dakota.

While I've never seen the show, we already have Amazon Prime, so I might have to check it out-- if only to see our fair city in their spotlight. My wife, Katie, grabbed these pictures of the teams on the Peace Plaza Monday morning...
