Caledonia, MN (KROC AM News ) A self-reported violation has led to a $78,000 fine against the owner of a sporting goods manufacturing plant in Caledonia.

The Rawlings Sporting Goods Company makes composite softball, fastpitch and baseball bats, along with hockey equipment and helmets at its facility in the Houston County community, but failed to obtain air emissions permits from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

The air emissions permits are needed for paint booths used in the manufacture of the sporting-goods.
