Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has filled a new judgeship in southeastern Minnesota.

Dayton announced on Monday the appointment of Crista Daily to succeed Ramsey County Court Referee Joanne Yanish. By order of the Minnesota Supreme Court, the Referee position was converted into a Third District Court Judgeship and was assigned to the Mower County Courthouse in Austin.

“I am pleased to appoint Christa M. Daily to serve as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District,” said Governor Dayton. “Throughout her career as a public defender, Assistant County Attorney, and in private practice, Ms. Daily has consistently demonstrated her commitment to justice and public service. She will be an excellent judge.”

Dailey is currently an Assistant Third District Public Defender and previously worked as an Assistant Mower County Attorney. She has also worked as a private attorney and an assistant prosecutor in Stearns County.
