Goodview, MN (KROC AM News) - A missing Winona-area woman called her family from Rockford, Illinois Thursday night to say she was okay.

Goodview Police Chief Kent Russell says 31-year-old Leigh Meska called her parents to let them know where she was and they went to pick her up.

Meska left her home Wednesday morning and it was thought she was headed to her job at Mayo Clinic.

Searches were conducted in rural areas of Olmsted and Winona counties out of concern she may have crashed in the frigid weather.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Behrns says his department used extensive resources in searching for Meska. Behrns says patrol deputies covered roads in the southeast part of the county, between Highway 14 and the Chatfield. He says other staff members were also involved in the search effort.  On Thursday, a total of 15 department members were assisting in the search.

Behrns says video from a business in Eyota showed Meska drive by on Highway 14 around 7:45 AM Wednesday, headed east. Half an hour later she drove by in the opposite direction.
