Undated (KROC-AM News) - The author of a respected economic report says the latest numbers indicate economic growth in Minnesota will be higher than in the rest of the upper Midwest and the nation as a whole over the next few months.

The new Mid-America Business Conditions Survey of business supply managers put Minnesota’s overall economic index at 54.3 in June. That was up just over two points from May and it marked the first time since February there has been an increase in the state’s overall index.

Every component of the index was above 50, and any reading above 50 is an indicator of future growth.

Creighton University Economics Professor Ernie Goss noted both durable goods manufacturers and non-durable goods producers in Minnesota reported solid upturns in business activity last month.
