MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota has added Dan O'Brien to its coaching staff as a co-special teams coordinator and assistant defensive backs coach.

O'Brien, who had served as director of football operations from 2008-14 and had also been a senior associate athletic director, will also help with recruiting.

The hire announced Monday is the latest move as head coach Tracy Claeys reshapes his staff in his first offseason as head coach. Claeys on Sunday announced that offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover and quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski wouldn't return.

Minnesota finished 5-7 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten. Claeys took over as coach with five games remaining after Jerry Kill was forced to retire because of epilepsy.
