The unusually cold weather appears to have impacted sales of existing homes in Minnesota in November.

The monthly report from the Minnesota Association of Realtors shows the number of closings on sales statewide were down 12.5-percent when compared to November of last year, while the number of new listings dropped 14-percent. The report also shows home values statewide continued to climb last month, with the median sales price up 3.3-percent from a year ago at about $175,000 dollars.

In southeastern Minnesota, the number of closings dropped 10.6-percent from last year, while the number of new listings declined nearly 13-percent and the median sales price slipped 3.6-percent to just under $135,000 dollars.
