Undated (KROC-AM News) - Much of Minnesota is still in a drought, but the recent rains continued to ease the parched conditions over the past week.

The new Drought Monitor report from the National Weather Service shows about 87-percent of the state is still experiencing at least minor drought conditions, compared with almost 95-percent a week ago The severe drought conditions that were present a few weeks ago completely disappeared last week, and now only about 25-percent of the state is in a moderate drought. That’s down from nearly 50-percent a week ago.

Most of areas rated as being in a moderate drought are in northern Minnesota, but moderate drought conditions are also found throughout Goodhue County and the Twin Cities area.
